What is a roman Blind. This is an elegant yet simple window covering. Roman Blinds are available as either lined or unlined. Almost all Curtain Fabrics require an additional lining to protect not only the fabric from fading but also to give your room better insulation and light control.

Unlined Romans are made from Fabrics specifically made so as not to require an additional lining. These "ROMAN" fabrics come in Block Out, Translucent and Transparent. The later 2 types are designed for privacy rather than Block Out. However some of these Translucent and Transparent materials have specialised backings so as to still provide good insulation.

Romans can further be broken up into Rear Batten or Flat Romans, Front Batten Romans sometimes called Chinese or Oriental Blinds as well as Timber Batten Romans (sometimes Called Californian Style).
